RCC-F Code: module 1

The code brings together the design and construction rules concerning fire applied to all pressurized water reactors. This course aims to convey the main concepts covered and is intended for beginners on the subject. Module 1 is an introduction to the concepts developed in the code.

Objectives

To know how to protect against the effects of a fire in a nuclear installation
To understand the context of the code (Publisher, Evolution, Documentary and regulatory environment, Feedback, etc.)
To be able to explain the structure, content, and limits of the code
To be able to summarize its integration into safety demonstration and national regulations
To be able to identify the types of performance required for each product and summarize the qualification principles.

Program

Introduction to the RCC-F code (Status, objectives, content, general definitions)
Concepts on general nuclear safety rules (Design safety principles, objectives & analysis rules)
Concepts on nuclear process safety – from design to operation (Fire protection design bases, constructions & installation rules)
Concepts on personnel safety (Evacuation conditions, smoke protection, fire-fighting equipment)
Concepts on fire protection qualification (Qualification principles, EPRESSI method)

Target audience

Project managers, engineers involved in an EPR project at any time and at any level of said project.
Engineers from public services involved in an EPR project.
People in charge of the design or construction of an ERP plant.
Fire safety engineers or fire risk analysis engineers.

Pre requisites

To have the RCC-F Code version 2020.
Access to the RCC-F Code can be provided by Efectis France upon request at a rate of €30 excluding VAT per trainee.

Teaching methods

Training support: For each training, a PDF version of the educational support will be sent before the session. The distribution of this support is the responsibility of the client.
Evaluation of acquired knowledge via a questionnaire distributed at the end of the session.
Training certificate issued at the end of the course.
